REAL LIFE Experience TRUMPS Politics!
2012 Campaign - Dane County Board
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My name is Terri Kelso and I am running for Dane County Board Supervisor, District 22!
As a resident of this district, you may have recently received a piece of literature in the mail from my opponent.
As a voter, you must decide whether to vote for someone like me who has endured and learned from real life experiences, or vote for someone like my opponent, who trashes the good name of a total stranger just to make herself look like the better candidate. Ask yourself - "if I suffer hardships and need assistance from the County, who will better serve me and my family?"
Here are the facts!
I have a very strong commitment to family. It is because of that committment I will not respond in detail to the SMEAR campaign she has now launched against me. It will serve no good purpose to re-live any of those details for my family.
As a past victim of Domestic Violence, I can assure there were many difficult choices to make to keep my children safe, clothed, fed and housed. As a single parent, there is less income, less time and fewer options available to provide for the children. We endured great financial hardships because of this.
I decided to campaign for this open seat because I am extremely passionate about Health & Human Services and the safety of our families, homes and roadways. This passion developed when my children and I became recipients of many of these beneficial programs the county provides. We received Energy Assistance, Food Assistance and Rent Assistance. We were at the Food Panty nearly every week to receive groceries. Groceries I now hand out to needy families as I give back by Volunterring my time for the past 5 years. Who better to understand the importance of these programs than a family who actually received them.
I am not a career politician. I am a resident of this community and county - same as you - who also happens to be a business owner and homeowner.
My business provides drug and alcohol testing services to businesses, city and county agencies to help ensure the safety of their employees and their workplaces.
I believe my real life experiences will enable me to look at the issues honestly, clearly and without bias. Being a Dane County Supervisor must be about representing the people in the county and doing what is best for them.
As a Dane County Board Supervisor, I will put the needs of the residents first. There is a way to provide affordable, comprehensive services for our residents without increasing taxes and county fees.
I believe focus must be put on creating jobs and attracting businesses to the area. Putting our residents back to work is a win-win situation for all of us!
If you agree, please vote for me on April 3rd! If you have any questions for me, I encourage you to call me directly. All of my contact information is on the "Contact Me" page.
Thank you for your support!
